Catherine Both Exhibit Opening Reception

Join us on May 9th for the opening reception of the Catherine Both exhibit. Enjoy the fabulous cocktail menu and meet the artist.

When Catherine was a child, her sole passion was art. By high school, she began receiving local, regional, and national awards for her paintings. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Florida State University in 1993, where she was one of only 13 students in the program. By 1997, Catherine knew she wanted to share her love of art with others, so she became certified to teach K-12 by the University of Richmond. She continues to conduct studio workshops with children and adults through a summer program at St. Catherine’s.

Over the years, Catherine has worked with various mediums including oil, pastels, and charcoal. However, as she transitioned from realism to more abstract pieces, she has embraced acrylics. This medium allows her to explore the interplay of lights and darks within a piece, and she can experiment with thickness, ranging from rich textures to thin, fluid strokes reminiscent of watercolors. Creating abstract pieces also enables her to appreciate the beauty in our interpretation of the most ordinary aspects of life.

This exhibit will run from May 9th to May 31st. Please contact Cara Dickens at cara@rocketpopmedia.com or via text at 804-677-6556 for purchase inquiries.
