John is a Richmond-based artist who mostly paints weddings, murals, and landscapes, as well as drawing or painting custom portraits and architectural works.

Originally from Augusta, Georgia, John grew up with only pencils to create. It was in high school, after exposure to new materials and techniques, that he was able to fine-tune his skills. After graduating, he discovered Bob Ross, which changed his artistic game. It taught him to enjoy painting and make it relatable. He then began to teach social painting classes while studying and honing his craft.

In the midst of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, John decided to leave the safety net of the corporate world and pursue his dream of being a full-time artist. He now works with various mediums but primarily uses oils and charcoal. He decided to put more time into his work as a live event painter and began booking weddings both locally and outside of the state. He enjoys traveling to capture beautiful scenery and magical moments between couples on the happiest day of their lives.
